ATI teams up with Gigabyte to promote ATI RX330 motherboards

ATI Technologies is cooperating with Gigabyte Technology in China to promote Gigabyte's GA-8TRX330-L motherboard, which is the first motherboard to feature the ATI RX330 north bridge, said ATI chairman KY Ho in Shanghai recently. ATI's share in the graphics chipset market in China is growing rapidly, and ATI will leverage its market base to help promote its discrete system chipset products, Ho said. Ho added that more than 200,000 units of the Radeon 9550-based graphics cards have been sold in China.

In addition, by cooperating with leading motherboard maker Gigabyte, ATI can increase its name recognition in the system chipset segment, Ho claimed. ATI will also support Gigabyte's marketing efforts by bundling graphics cards using ATI graphics chips with the Gigabyte motherboards in the channel, Ho said.
