With the first Pixel feature drop, Google added automatic Call Screening feature to the Pixel 4. The company now intends to bring the feature to older Pixel smartphones as well.
Call screening is already present on older Pixel smartphones and allows users to manually screen incoming calls. However, when Google announced automatic Call Screening as a part of the first Pixel feature drop, it only mentioned the feature coming to the Pixel 4. A number of Google's support pages also mention that automatic Call Screening is exclusive to the latest Pixel smartphone.
Nonetheless, a spokesperson from the company told Business Insider that the feature will roll out to Pixel 2, Pixel 3a, and Pixel 3 running Android 10 "over the coming weeks."
With automatic Call Screening, the entire screening process will happen without any user intervention. As previously detailed, users will be able to automatically decline robocalls without their phone even ringing once thanks to this feature.
When Assistant identifies a caller as genuine, it would provide the user with a transcript of the call. Users will also have the option to automatically trigger Call Screening for unknown numbers, private numbers, altered numbers, or numbers listed in Google's spam database.
