Today Eidos announced that Backyard Wrestling 2 has officially gone gold. It is expected the game will be released on November 16 for the Xbox and Playstation 2 consoles. Backyard Wrestling 2: There Goes the Neighborhood was developed by Paradox. The game captures the suburban culture of extreme wrestling with no limits. Last week, Eidos released details on bonus giveaways to those who preorder Backyard Wrestling 2, which includes a DVD with several videos of making-of footage and a special interview with musician and playable character Andrew WK. The official Web site has also been updated and now includes new screenshots, desktops, and screensavers, as well as a preview of the game's soundtrack via "Backyard Wrestling Radio."
In BW2 there are interactive things such as weapon items including golf clubs, weed whackers and sledgehammers that can perform a variety of maneuvers. Online play has been cut from the final release of the game, but the game will feature musicians The Insane Clown Posse, porn star Tera Patrick, and real backyard wrestlers as playable characters. Backyard Wrestling 2: There Goes the Neighborhood is rated M and has an SRP of $49.99. For more information, check out our previous coverage.
