We previously reported that Swatch CEO referred to Apple Watch as an "interesting toy" but according to Best Buy, this "toy" sells well.
Best Buy CEO Hubert Joly has announced that Best Buy would increase support for Apple Watch by adding availability to all 1,050 retail stores across the United States. Best Buy had previously only committed to 300 of its stores carrying Apple Watch by the holiday season. However, due to strong sales of the device, Best Buy will increase support not for just the Watch but for all of Apple's products due to "strong demand".
Best Buy began stocking the Apple Watch, at both retail and online stores, in early August along with a number of accessories for the wearable. As reported earlier, Best Buy will begin selling AppleCare and AppleCare+ warranty plans by mid-September. This is in addition to Best Buy becoming an authorized service provider for Apple, allowing customers to have their Apple devices serviced onsite.
While Apple has avoided stating sales figures to date, Best Buy's support for the wearable would seem to indicate that the Watch is proving a success. Perhaps this could be an indicator that the Watch has been exceeding expectations.
According to Joly, all of the 1,050 stores will carry Apple Watch stock "by the end of September".
