Earlier this week, Microsoft placed a 40 foot long and 20 feet high Xbox One prop on a parking lot in Vancouver. Microsoft asked people to "pledge" their Xbox Live gamertags so they could reach a certain goal and open up what was inside the prop.
On Halloween Thursday, that pledge goal was reached and, as promised, the big Xbox One prop opened up and some zombies started showing up outside. The official Xbox Canada Twitter feed showed pictures of the zombie outbreak, which was staged to help promote the Xbox One launch title Dead Rising 3, was developed by Capcom's Vancouver team.
After the zombie outbreak was defeated by some of the Dead Rising 3 human characters outside, the public was allowed to go inside the big Xbox One, where Microsoft had set up stations to actually play the open world zombie action game, along with the fighting game Killer Instinct.
The huge Xbox One is now slated to go to other parts of Canada in the coming weeks leading up to the launch of the real game console on November 22nd. Microsoft is already collecting gamertags to unlock the big prop at its next event, but specifics have yet to be announced.
