Earlier this month, Microsoft revealed that it was preparing to rebrand its Bing apps under the MSN brand. The apps - such as News, Weather and Travel, among others - dropped some of their Bing branding back in April, but the plan to rename them with the MSN brand ties in with the company's relaunch of its MSN homepage.
The folks over at WPCentral report that they've received a few tips from users who have seen an in-app notification on the Finance app, stating that it will be getting a completely new name pretty soon. The notification states:
Money, coming soon
In the coming days, we will change our name from Bing Finance to MSN Money. The app will continue to have all the content, tools and market data you enjoy today under our new name 'Money'."
As with the Bing apps, it seems that the MSN prefix will not appear on the app list on the phone; while the formal name of the app will be 'MSN Money', it will simply be called 'Money' on handsets.
