After a few months of displaying the ‘Microsoft Bing’ name on the Bing home page, the Redmond giant today officially announced that the search engine is formally being rebranded to Microsoft Bing. The company cites a few reasons for this change that include the expansion of the service into multiple other offerings such as the Edge browser’s InPrivate Search, the search functionality on Windows, the Microsoft 365 suite, and more. The rebrand also brings a new logo for the service that is in line with the company’s Fluent design language.
Along with the news of the rebrand, the company also announced the expansion of the Give with Bing program to more markets. The program lets users automatically donate their Microsoft Rewards points to non-profit organizations in supported countries. The firm says that it now supports “over 1.4 million organizations” around the world. The new markets that the program is expanding to include the UK, Canada, Australia, France, Italy, Germany, and Spain. Additionally, donations made by users in all markets till December 31 will be matched by Microsoft.
As part of the program, the company has also partnered with singer Janelle Monáe and Seattle Seahawks’ Jamal Adams to support the Social Justice Learning Institute (SJLI) and Why Not You Foundation, respectively. The company also adds that it has raised more than $1 million overall through the Give with Bing initiative. Those interested can head here to get started with the program.
