While it still isn't quite mainstream yet, mining cryptocurrency has become more popular over the past couple of years, with more manufacturers creating specialized products for the niche market.
Although mining the currency doesn't require much in terms of CPU, it does heavily rely on the GPU, requiring many cards to farm effectively. While motherboards with six card slots have been a staple for quite some time, companies have slowly introduced boards that can handle seven or even eight cards at a time. While eight cards were thought to be impressive only a month ago, it seems that PC parts manufacturer Biostar is now introducing its latest board that can handle up to 12 cards at a time.
The TB250-BTC PRO will make things more cost effective for anyone looking to get into mining, since it will cut the cost of buying an additional CPU, RAM, and SSD. Furthermore, the price of the board is extremely reasonable, coming out to $129.99. While Biostar has not announced where or when the TB250-BTC PRO can be purchased, the motherboard should arrive over the next couple of months and will most likely be a popular item amongst the mining community.
