The Xiaomi-funded firm, Black Shark Technologies, is planning to release its first smartphone to the public and now has an event planned for next week. According to the translation of the invitation by Gizmochina, the announcement will take place in China on April 13, with Zhu Shangzu being invited as a guest. Zhu Shangzu is a partner of Xiaomi's investment arm.
If you are unfamiliar with Black Shark Technologies, you're not alone. The company is a clear newcomer to the smartphone industry but does have some ambitious plans to produce and sell a smartphone made for gaming. Although details are scarce, there are reports from an AnTuTu benchmark sighting that the unit will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, 8GB RAM, and will be running Android Oreo. Along with its top-end specifications, the handset is rumored to have a 120Hz display, much like the Razer Phone.
Luckily, we only have to wait a week for the official details of the handset. Sadly, there is a very high chance that this will be a regional release but here is hoping that this company will offer a global presence.
