Microsoft launched its first Surface product back in October 2012, running Windows RT. With the brand approaching its 10-year anniversary in a matter of months, it appears that the company is preparing some celebrations in the form of new hardware. As spotted by Aggiornamenti Lumia, images of a black Surface Go 3 have leaked online, and can be seen below:

Surface products in the color black are nothing new, but they're still a welcome addition. We have seen black Surface Pro and Laptop devices in the past.
The Surface Go 3 seen in the leaked images is seemingly identical to the existing hardware, apart from the color. Although a Microsoft listing doesn't appear to be live yet, an Amazon Germany listing has surfaced, indicating that the launch will happen on January 11. Microsoft is expected to announce LTE versions of the Surface Go 3 soon too, so it's likely that the black variant of the device will be announced alongside that.
It remains to be seen when Microsoft will officially confirm the existence of the black hardware. That said, sources familiar with the matter have informed The Verge that Microsoft will be celebrating the upcoming 10-year anniversary of its Surface lineup with multiple refreshes this year, and the matte black Surface Go 3 could be the first step in this direction.
