Gearbox Software is not wasting any time giving fans of its first person shooter sequel Borderlands 2 some new DLC content. This week, the developer released the Mechromancer character class pack, which adds a fifth character to play in Borderlands 2.
Now, the Associated Press reports that Borderlands 2's first story driven DLC pack is coming out next week. It's called Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty, and it will be available for download on October 16th for $9.99. You can also get the DLC pack if you sign up for the Borderlands 2 Season Pass, which will offer four upcoming DLC packs for $29.99.
As far as Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty, the article says it will offer gamers some new enemies to fight in the deserts of Pandora, such as sand worms. There's even a sand skiff vehicle to drive. It sounds like Gearbox has been watching lots of Dune and Return of the Jedi mixed with Pirates of the Caribbean.
While Borderlands 2 was released a few weeks ago, its publisher 2K Games has yet to announce how many units the game has sold so far, with a spokesperson saying only that sales have been "very strong."
