Gearbox Software launched its latest looter RPG Borderlands 3 for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on September 13 last year, however, the PC version was exclusive to the Epic Games Store. The exclusivity period was for six months, and right on schedule, Gearbox today announced during PAX East that Borderlands 3 will be hitting Steam on March 13.
Players across the Epic Games Store and Steam will be in the same pool with full cross-play between the two platforms. The Steam store page is already up and running, letting fans who've been waiting for the chance, wishlist the title to get notified when the release timer reaches zero.
According to the game's publisher 2K Games, during its exclusivity period on the Epic Games Store Borderlands 3 showed "incredibly strong" sales. It also managed to break series records for concurrent player numbers.
Moreover, Gearbox announced the second expansion to the game today. Arriving with the title Guns, Love, and Tentacles: The Marriage of Wainwright and Hammerlock, this addon will be available on March 26 across all platforms. It will feature some familiar faces, such as the Borderlands 2 Vault Hunter Gaige as a wedding planner, as NPCs, as well as plenty of new guns, mods, and more.
