Bose has announced the second generation of their noise-masking earbuds, the Bose Sleepbuds II. This comes just a few days after the brand announced QuietComfort 35 II Gaming Headset and three new audio-packing sunglasses under their Frames lineup. The very first product under this category was announced back in 2017 via a crowd-funding platform.
Like their predecessors, the Sleepbuds II do not play music or audiobooks as chosen by the user. Instead, they are designed to be worn overnight while they play a pre-designed set of tracks intended to mask noise like footsteps and snoring and reduce sleep disruptions. The tracks can be chosen via the Bose Sleep app, and a few of them can be saved directly into the earbuds for a smooth playback experience. You can listen to a sample set of sounds here.
The earbuds are made up of plastic. The silicone earbuds comes in three different sizes, and the charging-cum-storage case is made from aluminum. The company claims a total of 10 hours of playback on a single charge with the new nickel-metal hydride batteries used in the earbuds. The case provides an extra 30 hours of capacity, and can be charged via USB.
The Bose Sleepbuds II are priced at $249.95, and will be shipped October 6 onward. They are available for pre-order in United States, Canada, and Europe, with more countries to follow soon.
