BT lowers business broadband costs

Business users of some of BT Openworld's packages could save up to 20 per cent. BT Openworld is to shave up to a fifth off the monthly cost of its Business Plus broadband services from 1 September. The internet service provider (ISP) said the revised fees will apply to new customers immediately from this date, and to existing customers on a pro rata basis with quarterly bills adjusted accordingly.

The revised fees apply to users of BT's Business 500PLUS (512k), Business 1000PLUS (1Mbps) and Business 2000PLUS (2Mbps) high-end ADSL products with 20:1 contention ratios. The cost of the Business 500PLUS service will be cut from £79.99 to £65 per month. Business 1000PLUS will be cut from £119.99 to £100 per month, and Business 2000PLUS from £149.99 to £130 per month.

"We're cutting the cost of our broadband services to boost broadband take-up across the SME community," said Jerry Thompson, director of Business Broadband at BT Openworld. "The price reductions, combined with improved service quality and better customer care, confirm our position as the ISP of choice for SMEs, not just in terms of market share but also our reputation as a trusted provider."
