Activision has introduced a new PC exclusive edition for one of the most popular shooters of the year, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, that only costs $29.99. The Battle Edition drops the cooperative zombie mode from the game's standard triple offering of multiplayer, and only comes included with the battle royale and the classic head-to-head multiplayer modes.
Those who pick up the new version will still be joining the same servers as the full version players. There is also an upgrade available for purchase if Battle Edition players decide they want to experience the zombies, which come with additional 1,100 Call of Duty Points and bonus items.
Regarding the new release, Activision senior vice president Rob Schonfeld said:
"Since launch, the response on Black Ops 4 from the PC community has been fantastic, and the game has continued to drive strong engagement with players. The Black Ops 4 Battle Edition is a great way to bring even more new players into the game and allow them to jump into the incredibly fun Multiplayer and Blackout modes which fans have loved so much since day one."
The introductory $29.99 price point of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Battle Edition will go up to $39.99 on January 6, however, so any interested PC players might want to pick it up before then straight from the Battle.net store. Don't forget that Call of Duty now also has a new contender in the battle royale arena straight from Valve.
