Capcom's Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo or Puzzle Fighter as it more commonly referred to was released a little over two decades ago. The game featured popular characters from the firm's Street Fighter Alpha and Darkstalkers titles and was a simple puzzle game, a stark departure from the popular fighting games the firm was known for.
At PAX West, Capcom announced the revival of its series, with a new Puzzle Fighter game that is scheduled to arrive on iOS and Android in the later part of the year. Like the original, players will select one player from a group that is comprised of characters from the firm's popular franchises.
In this go-around, each character will have their own individual strengths and benefits. The main character will also have help from two assist characters, that will enhance the player's abilities. The game can be played solo or you can battle with friends.
Not much else is known about the game at this point, but we can see from the trailer and images located on the website that Capcom is going for a more modern look that retains the chibi aesthetic for characters from the original but applies a new coat of paint.
