It turns out that previous reports were correct, and that to cap off Microsoft's E3 press conference today, CD Projekt RED has finally unveiled a more extended glimpse into the world of its next game, Cyberpunk 2077.
The reveal trailer, which can be seen above, shows off in-game footage of the open-world RPG, including a variety of weapons, vehicles, and the day / night cycle. A little bit of the title's action is also revealed in the trailer's brief description:
Cyberpunk 2077 is a narrative-driven, open world RPG set in the most vibrant and dangerous metropolis of the future — Night City. You play as V, a hired gun on the rise, who just got their first serious contract. In a world of cyberenhanced street warriors, tech-savvy netrunners and corporate life-hackers, today is your first step to becoming an urban legend.
Cyberpunk 2077 is set in the same universe as Mike Pondsmith's classic pen & paper RPG system, Cyberpunk 2020.
For those not aware, the Polish studio's forthcoming game was first teased back in 2013 and was even the subject of a blackmail attempt last year, whereby CD Projekt RED was threatened with the release of stolen materials related to the game.
Beyond the video above, nothing else was revealed as far as release date or platform availability are concerned. Let's hope it doesn't take until 2077 for those details to surface.
Update: There's also a hidden message within the trailer:
