Certain Affinity reportedly developing new mode for Halo Infinite

Halo Infinite recently crossed 20 million players, and developer 343 Industries is committed to supporting the game for many years to come. We also expect story expansions to hit sometime in the future. However, it seems like there are major changes coming to the free-to-play multiplayer component as well.

According to a new report by Windows Central, Certain Affinity — a support studio that's helped 343 Industries with past projects — is working on a new mode for Halo Infinite. This mode is aimed toward newcomers who don't want such a competitive and demanding first-person shooter experience that's offered in Arena and Big Team Battle.

It's unclear if this new mode will be one that makes Arena and Big Team Battle more forgiving, or an entirely new experience like a Gears of War-like Horde mode. Horde mode in many games requires you to work with other players to slaughter computer-controlled enemies.

This new mode is expected to launch in a couple of months. Certain Affinity is also working on a Monster Hunter-like title for Microsoft. It's expected to be an exclusive, only available on PC and Xbox platforms. As expected, it'll be part of Xbox Game Pass at launch.
