Microsoft has released a new update for its Channel 9 service bringing it into the realm of modern design. The app, launched in 2013 as a native Windows 8 app, has largely been the same since its release but with this update, it is now a true UWP app.
While it might have taken a while for the service to be updated, this refresh brings some niceties along with it including a reworked design and a more robust backend. A few features, however, got the ax as the option for accent colors and dark theme are no longer available.
The service provides video tutorials, courses, and resources for developers and IT professionals and is run by developers and tech enthusiasts within Microsoft's campus. From beginners' guides to advanced tutorials for professionals, the site has something for everyone who wants to learn or discuss different aspects of technology.
The store description of the app reads:
Channel 9 provides a way to browse and view videos on a variety of developer and consumer topics from the Channel9.msdn.com web site.
The app is still rolling out for existing users and can be downloaded for Windows 10 PC and mobile here.
