During IGN's Summer of Gaming 2020 digital event today, Torn Banner Studios announced Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 editions of Chivalry 2. Before this, only a PC version of the medieval multiplayer fighting game had been announced, which happened almost exactly a year ago during the 2020 E3 PC Gaming Show.
Catch the new console announcement trailer below, which showcases plenty of large battles, decapitations, castle sieges, village burning, and more as expected from the sequel to Chivalry: Medieval Warfare.
Another cool little reveal today was that Chivalry 2 will have cross-platform multiplayer support. It seems the feature will be a common theme across many upcoming multiplayer games and those still receiving updates.
Chivalry 2 does not have a firm release date attached to it yet, and is still holding on to the 2020 window it had last year when the PC version was announced. It could be that Torn Banner Studios plans to push out the game in late 2020 to all current and next-generation platforms at once. The PC version will launch as a timed exclusive on the Epic Games Store, as previously confirmed.
Also, there are Chivalry 2 alpha sign-ups available on the game's official website for those interested in getting a chance to play early builds and giving feedback to the developer.
