Cisco Systems is partnering with Smartworld to develop and implement a smart network for Expo 2020 Dubai, the first World Expo to be organized in the Middle East. The event is set to open on October 20, 2020.
The two companies will collaborate to run several portions of the expo’s IP network infrastructure, which includes Cisco's intent-based networking services. These solutions are meant to put business intent to actual policies for the network and implement them across the infrastructure. Intent-based networks are also designed to factor in several issues along the way and address security threats.
This particular solution ismeant to link more than 100,000 IoT devices and help guests as well as other participants connect on multiple devices in a secure environment.
Abdulqader Ali, CEO of Smartworld, said:
“Being a semi-government leading master systems integrator, Smartworld is committed to working with Cisco to help Expo 2020 deliver a global event enabled by the latest technology, in alignment with Expo’s theme Connecting Minds, Creating the Future.”
Expo 2020 Dubai seeks to provide a prospect for future technologies that result from combined efforts and innovation. Over 25 million visitors, 70 percent coming from outside the United Arab Emirates, are expected to participate in the expo which will run until April 10, 2021.
