Electronic Arts hosts a promotion named "On the House" on its Origin gaming platform for the PC, where the publisher offers one free game for a limited time with no strings attached. For the past couple of months, EA has been offering 2004's Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault for free, but now the publisher has replaced this with another classic game, namely Nox.
Nox is a video game developed by Westwood Studios and published on Microsoft Windows by Electronic Arts way back in 2000. The Role Playing Game (RPG) details the story of Jack, who battles an evil sorceress and her necromancers in a parallel fantasy universe. The game was generally well received and has been favorably compared to Diablo II by critics.
Seeing that the game was released almost 16 years ago, the minimum system requirements for the game are quite low as well:
- OS: Windows XP or Vista
- CPU: 1.8 GHz
- GPU: 3D graphics card compatible with DirectX 7 (Compatible with DirectX 9 recommended)
- RAM: 512 MB
- Hard drive space: 2 GB HDD
- Accessories: Mouse, keyboard
The game is now available to download for free on EA Origin as a part of the company's "On the House" promotion. It is noteworthy that this offer is valid for a limited time only, as games can be pulled from the promotion at any time; Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault lasted for two months. Moreover, if you download Nox during this time period, it is yours to keep forever even if the game is removed from "On the House" deals later on.
