It was a couple months ago that word leaked out that a new Android 7.0 handset would be making its debut on T-Mobile. Now, the Coolpad Defiant is available for purchase, coming in at $100.
If you've never heard of Coolpad, you probably aren't alone. That said, the firm has been involved in mobile technology for over a decade, and is based in China. More recently, LeEco acquired a controlling stake in the firm, and even started making efforts to expand its product line to other regions.
Not everyone requires the latest and greatest, so the Coolpad Defiant is a good mix of both. While the specifications are nothing to write home about, the handset is at least coming to market with a newer version of Android.
As for specifications, the handset offers:
- 5-inch 854×480 resolution display
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor
- 1GB RAM
- 8GB storage with microSD expansion up to 32GB
- 5MP rear camera with a 2MP front-facing camera
- 2,450 mAh battery
- Android 7.0 Nougat
Again, the specifications won't rival most competitors devices, but should be a good option for someone looking to dip their toes in the smartphone waters. As mentioned previously, the handset can be purchased from T-Mobile outright for $100, or payment can be made with $4 down, and 24 monthly payments of $4.
