There's no denying that Crysis is an absolute beauty; nothing comes close to matching the gorgeous visuals that CryEngine 2 – the technology behind Crysis – can produce. It's exciting to know, then, that CryEngine 2 is going to be shown at this year's GDC running on multiple platforms, including the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
There won't be a public showing of this, but it's exciting news nevertheless. While it likely isn't going to be a straight port of the engine – it is, after all, built to last well into the future on hardware that you can't find now – it would be great to see how hard it could push the power of the 360 and PS3.
Maybe a console version of Crysis isn't so far fetched after all.
