Today, CD Projekt RED revealed the long-awaited Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 upgrade for Cyberpunk 2077 on Twitch. The game runs at 4K resolution now — through dynamic scaling — and hits 60 frames per second (FPS) on Performance mode. However, there's also a ray-traced option that caps the frame rate to 30 FPS, but greatly boosts the visual quality.
The download is around 63 GB on Xbox Series X so be sure to give it plenty of time. Keep in mind that the Xbox Series S version of Cyberpunk 2077 only runs at 1440p, also with dynamic scaling, and 30 FPS. However, there are plenty of other changes with the upgrade because it's accompanied by the massive 1.5 Patch.
According to the patch notes, you can customize your appearance at any time now, rent more apartments, gain new weapons, and do so much more. However, there are also substantial behind-the-scene tweaks that make the performance better, the computer-controlled enemies and allies' actions better, and fix plenty of issues that have plagued the game since launch.
Two of the biggest changes have to be the complete revamp of the Perks system and the new driving model. Many Perks have been redesigned and new ones have been added. Due to this, you'll have to reassign them once you launch Patch 1.5 today.
Driving a car is also much easier and less cumbersome. The brakes on cars and other vehicles have been reworked so you have more control. Beforehand, walking everywhere was easier because driving could be a pain, but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore based on testing.
You can pick up Cyberpunk 2077 on the Xbox Store or the platform of your choice. The game's currently on sale for $29.99, with a free trial if you're unsure whether it's stable enough to spend your hard-earned money on.
