CD Projekt RED's Cyberpunk 2077 once again showed up at Microsoft's Xbox E3 Briefing - without "hacking" it this time -, and in an extremely surprising twist, Keanu Reeves was there to present it. See the E3 2019 cinematic trailer above, where we see that The Matrix and John Wick star will actually be playing a character in the game.
What we also got was an official release date, that being April 16, 2020, so fans can stop speculating and mark their calendars on when they can jump into Night City to begin their adventures. Here's a short description of the game by the developer:
In the most dangerous megacity of the future, the real you is not enough. Become V, a cyber-enhanced mercenary outlaw going after a one-of-a-kind implant — the key to immortality. Customize your cyberware and skillset, and explore a vast city of the future obsessed with power, glamour and body modification. The choices you make will determine the story and shape the world around you.
For those wanting gameplay, CD Projekt RED released almost an hour of early-in-development footage last year. It's unclear if The Witcher series studio will be releasing more gameplay of its new RPG at E3 this year or if we will have to wait until the release gets closer before getting another look.
Cyberpunk 2077 is coming to PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
