Almost 5 years after it was first revealed, the hype surrounding CD Projekt RED's upcoming futuristic RPG is still at a fever pitch. The game's official Twitter account today made its first tweet after more than four years of silence and the response has been deafening.

The mere prospect of the game's announcement in the near future has left gamers in a frenzied state, with a flood of GIFs and memes swarming the tweet in no time. In the three hours since the tweet went up, it has already been retweeted more than six thousand times, and over 15 thousand likes to its credit, at the time of writing.
CD Projekt RED first revealed a CGI teaser trailer for the game back in 2013 to immense popularity but the company has remained largely silent about the game's development since. Though there has been a heightened amount of speculation regarding the game's progress amid rumours of controversy and high employee turnout, the studio recently assured fans that development was going as planned.
The controversy hasn't dulled the excitement surrounding the game, however, with the release and subsequent success of The Witcher 3 only adding to gamers' anticipation for the award-winning studio's next big title, which is expected to also feature online components.
The tweet may not provide anything substantial but it has left us anticipating for more. Perhaps we'll know more at E3 later this year.
