Tomorrow sees the release of LittleBigPlanet 2 and Mass Effect 2 on the PlayStation 3 in the UK. Both titles have been available since Tuesday in America and have had very positive reviews. Although Mass Effect 2 can be downloaded via the PlayStation Network in the US, over in Europe, Sony seem to have decided not to go with this option which has disappointed some fans. Today's news seems to have been a little slow, but we do the announcements of two new games in the form of The Smurfs and Virtua Tennis 4.

General News

Game based on The Smurfs movie announced

Ubisoft have announced a game based on the upcoming Smurfs movie. The game will be released on the Nintendo Wii and on the Nintendo DS. The game will follow the plot of the film, which sees the evil wizard Gargamel manages to move the Smurfs out of their regular magic world and they then land into ours. The Smurfs game will be launched at the same time as the movie comes out in the summer.

Virtua Tennis 4 announced

Sega has announced the upcoming release of Virtua Tennis 4 for Xbox 360, Wii and PlayStation 3. While the game will make use of motion control via Xbox Kinect, the Wii and the PlayStation 3. Virtua Tennis 4 is also set to run in stereoscopic 3D exclusively on the PlayStation 3 when it is released later this year.

New Xbox LIVE Deals and releases

Microsoft has detailed a number of new offers and new releases in their latest Xbox LIVE related press release. On January 26 Breach will be released, while a week later on February 2, Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 from Capcom will land on the service. As usual Microsoft also makes mention of their Deal of the Week offers, which range from Dance Central songs to reductions on a number of water related titles. Here is a snippet from the press release:
