Today, Dell announced some improvements to its PC as a Service (PCaaS) offerings. If you're not familiar with PCaaS, it's a full-stack solution from the company that offers a mix of hardware, software, support, and more for businesses.
One of the improvements that the company is making is the Services Delivery Manager. The manager is an actual person that's a single point of contact for the customers needs with "deployment, support, Dell Financial Services, and asset recovery" throughout the entire lifecycle.
PCaaS also now includes Flexible Financing, allowing customers to change their terms mid-stream to accommodate for changes in their business. Customers can flex up or down by 5, 10, or 15% within 36- and 48-month terms.
The other big improvement is Complete Lifecycle Services, which includes asset recovery. This is a simple way to return old devices to Dell, with an option for on-site data wiping.
There are also new software offerings through the service, such as Dell Endpoint Security Suite Enterprise, which includes "file-based encryption and advanced threat protection". Another is VMWare AirWatch for over-the-air endpoint management, and Absolute Data and Device Security for "asset tracking and adaptive endpoint security."
ProDeploy Client Suite is to help manage "planning, configuration, and integration", and there's also ProSupport Suite for tablets and PCs, which is meant to assist with all of the customer's support needs.
The PCaaS improvements are available now for OptiPlex desktops, Latitude laptops, and Precision workstations in the U.S., Canada, and select countries in Europe.
