THQ Nordic announced a sequel to the classic real-time tactics series Desperados last year, and although a firm release date is yet to be revealed, the game is getting a closed beta quite soon. Alongside the announcement also arrived a new trailer showcasing some of the tactics players can use to take down their adversaries in Desperados III, seen below.
Sadly, THQ Nordic and developer Mimimi Games will only be choosing 500 participants for this beta, with sign-ups available here. The beta will open its doors on July 9 and is slated to end on July 21. The studio added that this is not an early access session veiled as a beta test like "people might be used to nowadays."
"We really want to invite the community to play the game while it’s still under construction and share their thoughts and wishes with us," said Mimimi Games narrative director Dennis Huszak. "And we want to have the time to react to the players’ input and to optimize the game together." says Dennis Huszak, Narrative Director at Mimimi Games."
Desperados III will be releasing sometime this year on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4, and it certainly sounds like fans won't have to wait long for it, as the studio said today that the title "is entering the final stages of production."
