The upcoming Mimimi Games-developed real-time tactics title Desperados III now has a firm release date, with it landing on June 16. The game was originally announced back in 2018, and there's been a steady stream of information and trailers from the developer since then. Alongside today's announcement came a new trailer showcasing John Cooper the gunslinger's abilities, seen above.
The western experience will feature a prequel story to the classic 2001-release Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive, easily the most well-received game in the series. In the new game, John Cooper is joined by the "runaway bride Kate, the shady hitman Doc McCoy, the giant trapper Hector, and Isabelle, a mysterious lady from New Orleans," as they go through rural towns, swamps, and riverbanks in a quest for redemption.
Much like other real-time tactics titles, this stealth game offers a variety of unique skills for each character, letting them distract, trap, knock out, and kill their way through open-ended missions, with teamwork and timing being essential.
Desperados III is being published by THQ Nordic on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Those who pre-order the game, coming in at $49.99, will receive the Digital Deluxe version for the same price as Standard, which offers three additional DLC missions for later in 2020 as well as the original soundtrack in addition to the base game.
There is also a $109.99 physical Collector's Edition that comes with a music box, five figurines, the OST on a disk, an artbook, postcards, and a copy of the game all encased in a premium box.
