Devil's Third, the first game from the Japanese developer Valhalla Game Studios, is now back in the developer's hands. Previously the action game was to be published by THQ but, as part of the company's recent changes, THQ has now given the rights to the game back in Valhalla.
In a PDF page on the company's web site, Valhalla confirmed that in addition to the console versions, it would make Devil's Third for the PC as well as "... a wide range of digital devices." It added:
We are also looking beyond the boundaries of video games and plan to work with other various forms of media, including manga, novels, animation and film, to create a blockbuster franchise.
Valhalla was co-founded by Tomonobu Itagaki, best know for his creation of the Dead or Alive fighting game series, along with the current incarnation of the Ninja Gaiden franchise. Little is known of Devil's Third at this time, other than it is a third person shooter game, which is a new genre for Itagaki who is known for his fighting and melee games.
There's no word yet if Valhalla will search for another publisher for Devil's Third or if they will self-publish the game. There's also no word on when it will be released.
