Last week, we reported that Blizzard had turned the lights on a new launch website for the long awaited action-RPG sequel Diablo III. Among other things, the site was designed to give fans some extra information about the five hero classes in the game. Last week, the Demon Hunter got the spotlight. This week, the site has been updated once again to show off the Barbarian class.
The page comes complete with a new trailer showing off some gameplay footage of the big and mighty Barbarian in action. There's also some fictional lore about the class on the page and a new short story featuring the character.
The launch web site also has unlocked a new video, shown below, where the game's director Jay Wilson, art director Christian Lichtner and lead software engineer Jason Regier are shown in an interview taped in February 2011. The trio is pretty candid about how Diablo III's development was progressing at the time and the developers remark how they planned to change the UI and other elements.
The video confirms that Blizzard was indeed planning to release the game by the end of 2011. Obviously they missed that date. Diablo III is now set for release on May 15.
