Diablo III will officially be launched on May 15th but one day beforehand, fans of Blizzard's action-RPG series will have a chance to celebrate the release of the latest game in a series of launch events held around the world. Blizzard has revealed the cities that will hold officially sanctioned Diablo III launch events on May 14th.
In the US, the event will be held in Blizzard's home town of Irving, California at the Big Wheel Court at Irvine Spectrum Mall starting at 8 pm PT. The developer is partnering with GameStop and Intel to hold a number of pre-launch activities, including contests with prizes such as laser-etched desktop PCs from Intel. Members of Blizzard's development team will also be on hand.
Other official launch events will be held in London, Paris, Berlin, Moscow, Stockholm, Warsaw, Taipei, Singapore, Bangkok, and Seoul. The Diablo web site has the details on the specific locations of each event.
Blizzard has also announced that for people who live in the US, Canada, Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia, the Battle.net servers for Diablo III will go live at 12:01 am Pacific Time on May 15th.
