Speaking in an interview with GamerZines, Electronic Art’s DICE studio has confirmed that it's "doing a lot of things in the background" that are aimed "towards creating the next big Battlefield product".
Patrick Bach, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Executive Producer talked about the developer’s current projects saying, "In the background we're doing a lot of things that I can't talk about that are aiming towards creating the next big Battlefield product."
The next title in the Battlefield series is speculated to be Battlefield 3, which was revealed to be in development by John Pleasants, Electronic Arts Chief Operating Officer, in June of last year.
"I've had the luxury of looking at Battlefield 3 over at DICE over in Sweden," said Pleasants. "I was highly impressed by the way the people were working on that product. That's not for this fiscal year ending March 31, 2010, but that is a product that is looking very good."
Electronic Arts has also confirmed the development of a sequel to Mirror’s Edge, although additional information has yet to be released.
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is set to hit store shelves on March 2 in North America and March 5 in Europe for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
