The DirectX team plans to release DirectX 8.1 RC2 to Beta Place this weekend. The only change between RC1 and RC2 is one fix in D3D8.dll relating to alpha in texture palettes. If you have encountered an issue with D3D8.dll, please install this RC and provide us with your feedback ASAP. If you have not encountered an issue with D3D8.dll, you are not required to download RC2. Please continue to check BetaPlace this weekend for the RC2 release.
