Walt Disney Co. has already sold more than 1.5 million digital downloads of television shows such as "Lost," "Desperate Housewives, and "Kim Possible" through Apple's iTunes, but the company is also looking to target iTunes competitiors for distribution. Chief financial officer Tom Staggs stated that a few of these competitors will feature on-demand Disney content in "the near future."
Syndication of such hit shows such as Lost and Desperate Housewives would add $1 billion to the company's operating profit in the next five years, Staggs went on to say.
