Larian Studios is currently prepping the next game in its Divinity turn-based fantasy RPG series. The new game, announced this week, is titled Divinity: Original Sin. In terms of story, it will actually be set sometime before the events of the first game in the franchise Divine Divinity, which was released way back in 2002.
While the most recent Divinity game, Divinity II: Ego Draconis, had a third person viewpoint, Divinity: Original Sin will go old school and switch to an isometric view. In addition to two playable characters (a reanimated female warrior and a condemned soldier), this new game will also come with multiplayer co-op support. Larian even plans to throw in a mod tool for gamers to create their own adventures.
The game is supposed to be released sometime in early 2013 for the PC and Mac and we will get to see it first hand at E3 2012 next week. In addition, Larian will also be showing another game, the previously announced Dragon Commander. That game, where you indeed play the role of a dragon that's out to burn the countryside with his breath, does not yet have a release date.
