Video game developer and publisher Capcom brought the Devil May Cry franchise to Sony's virtual gaming show today. The Japanese game maker announced Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition for the PlayStation 5 series as well as the Xbox Series X and S. A trailer for the special next-gen variant of the DMC title can be seen above.
Apart from the base game, the next-gen variant of the title will also feature some new game modes. DMC 5 Special Edition will have a Turbo Mode, a Legendary Dark Knight mode and a Vergil mode which will add Vergil as a playable character in the game. Capcom has confirmed that the Vergil mode will be available to current-gen consoles as well.
PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC owners of Devil May Cry 5 will be able to purchase the Vegil mode as a DLC once it launches. The release date for the added content has not been disclosed yet.
Capcom also revealed that the newly announced special edition of Devil May Cry 5 will launch digitally as well as physically. The digital version will be available on both Sony and Microsoft's next-gen consoles the day they release. As for the physical release of the DMC 5 Special Edition, that has yet to be revealed.
