Following last week's cut in the price of PlayStation 2 hardware, SCEA has cut the recommended price of PlayStation 2 software from $49 to $39, the Financial Times reported today. If the cut is confirmed by Sony, and retailers and third parties follow suit, the news will be a boon to gamers and a blow to competitors, whose games will be undercut as well as outnumbered by the expansive PS2 software library.
