If you've been excited to get your hands on Bioware's Anthem, Microsoft and EA may have some good news for you. If you're subscribed to EA Access on the Xbox One or Origin Access on PC, you can play the game today, a whole week ahead of the full release on February 22.
Anthem is Bioware's response to Destiny, and it gives players the chance to hop into metal suits, called Javelin, to explore and brave massive areas run over by enemies. The game allows players to take on missions with friends online in a shared world as well. The title was originally revealed in 2017 and was planned for last year, but ended up being delayed.
EA Access and Origin Access Basic subscribers can get their hands on the Play First trial version of Anthem today, letting them enjoy up to 10 hours of the full game. As with every game with a Play First Trial, anything you unlock and achieve during those 10 hours can be carried over to the full version of the game should you choose to buy it. What's more, if you're subscribed to Origin Access Premium on PC, you can play the full game without limitations starting today.
If you haven't yet, you can join EA Access for $4.99 a month, as does an Origin Access Basic subscription, while the Premier tier costs $14.99. In addition to Play First Trials, you'll get access to a library of select EA titles for free, plus discounts in digital purchases of content from the company. If you do want to buy Anthem, you can pre-order it for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, or PC through Origin. You can also grab it bundled with an Xbox One S console.
Update: The article originally failed to mention that Origin Access subscribers have early access to the game as well. We apologize for this oversight.
