EA made a couple of new announcements regarding its popular World War 1 shooter Battlefield 1 at its gamescom presentation today. First up is a brand new game mode named Incursions, bringing a competitive play focused mode to the shooter for the first time. The game mode will pit two teams of five against each other in small-scale environments for strategic play, with vehicles still being a major factor.
A closed alpha for the mode is set to begin in September, which will provide eight different soldier kits to play with, and will include a modified version of the Giant's Shadow map. More information and registrations for the beta is available on the official Battlefield 1 website here.
The second announcement made on stage at the presentation was the Battlefield 1 Revolution edition. This new edition includes both the base game and the premium pass of Battlefield 1, ensuring owners will receive all past and future content in one package.
The Battlefield 1 Revolution edition is now available for purchase on PC via Origin, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 with a $59.99 price tag. The base game was also recently added to EA's subscription services, EA Access and Origin Access, which provide a hefty amount of content even without the premium pass.
