EE has today launched its EE Power promotion in the UK, giving any EE broadband or mobile customer a free portable power pack when you go into an EE store. The free portable charger has 2600 mAh capacity - enough to give the Galaxy S6 edge a full charge from empty - and can be collected from any EE store.
EE also recognizes that having a portable charger is one thing but actually remembering to charge it is entirely another. To solve this, EE will let you swap your empty Power Bar for a fully charged replacement just by walking into any EE store; or for customers who'd rather keep theirs, EE can charge your Power Bar to full in just four hours. Rather than impose a limit, the carrier will let you swap your Power Bar for a fully charged one as many times as you like, simply by visiting an one of its stores.
Pippa Dunn, Chief Marketing Officer at EE, said:
“Almost everyone’s experienced the frustration associated with running out of battery and it always seems to happen when you need your phone the most. With EE Power, we’re trying to help by giving our customers a Power Bar that can simply be swapped for a fully charged one at any of our stores, at any time, for free.”
To get a free Power Bar, you need to text "Power" to 365 from your EE phone. The text costs 35p and you'll receive a promotional code via text message, which you will then need to show in store to claim your free power bar. For broadband customers, you need to text "Join" plus your EE landline number to 60005 and follow the instructions (again, texts cost 35p)
