Elden Ring is an upcoming third-person fantasy role-playing game from FromSoftware. The developer is known for its Dark Souls series, and with this game, the team wants to push the boundaries of the genre it helped shape. From what we know, Elden Ring is set in an open-world environment where you go from city to village — and even some dank caves — to get to the bottom of mysterious events happening through the land. You can also hop on a horse to make the journey between areas less taxing. Lastly, the combat is just as challenging as Dark Souls III.
Today, someone on YouTube leaked a small clip of the game. While this could always be an elaborate hoax, we don't think so because the background shows the giant tree that is at the center of events happening throughout Elden Ring. The video has since been made Private, but many viewers managed to upload the clip to other services.

Aside from the beautiful visuals, you'll immediately notice that Elden Ring gives players more freedom of movement. Jumping onto rocks is as easy as pressing a button this time around. You don't have to sprint and then depress a thumbstick to vault a small gap.
Elden Ring is expected to launch on January 21, 2022. The game is a collaboration between Game of Thrones' George R. R. Martin and Dark Souls creator Hidetaka Miyazaki. Given the powerhouses behind this project, it's not surprising as to why there's so much hype and excitement surrounding the game.
