With Elden Ring's release date inching closer, publisher Bandai Namco is starting to roll out more details about the hugely anticipated game by FromSoftware. A support page detailing the game's compatibility options has been published, primarily shedding light on what kind of performance targets the game has for each platform and some other highlights.
While no exact details on what sort of an implementation will it be, ray tracing support has been confirmed for PC, Xbox Series X, and PlayStation 5 as coming via a patch, meaning post-launch. It's also unclear how taxing the effect will be on the below performance targets for consoles.
Elden Ring on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 will offer two graphics modes, Performance priority and Resolution priority, the former will adjust the resolution and other elements to raise the game's FPS to 60, while the latter mode will lock the resolution at 4K (1440p on Series S) and lower the FPS limit to 30.
"There are differences in the display of grass and other ground objects depending on the console," adds the page regarding Performance mode.

The document adds that the PlayStation 4 Pro's listed resolution will be hit using checkerboarding. It's also not possible to take save data from a PlayStation 5 over to a PlayStation 4.
The PC specifications are much simpler to go by. Elden Ring on PC will ship with an FPS cap of 60, a 3840x2160 maximum resolution, and HDR support. System requirements are yet to be announced.
Elden Ring received its largest gameplay showcase on Thursday, with almost 20 minutes of both solo and co-op action being revealed. Following the recent delay, the game is now set to launch on February 25, 2022.
