Here's a little something not so tech-related for today. Best Buy and Circuit City Stores reported that sales increases better than they expected.
The nation's biggest electronics sellers — Best Buy and Circuit City Stores — reported better-than-expected sales increases for the first quarter because of high demand for TVs, satellite systems and video games.
Both chains also offered positive earnings outlooks for the quarter.
Best Buy, the nation's largest electronics chain, said that earnings for the quarter would match Wall Street's expectations. Second-ranked rival Circuit City said the quarterly loss of its Circuit City Group unit, the publicly traded electronics chain, will likely be narrower than expected because of the surprisingly strong sales.
