Epic Games Store's began latest major giveaway promotion is currently offering Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto V for free until Thursday next week. Alongside it, the store also kicked off a new Epic Mega Sale, mirroring last year, probably also marking it as a yearly occurrence much like the Steam Summer Sale.
The sale is set to run until June 11, and the store should now be up and running following the issues it faced due to the giveaway popularity.
Many major exclusives the store has gathered over its lifetime, as well as other hits it offers, have been discounted in this Mega Sale. Some highlights include Control for 50% off, The Witcher 3: GOTY edition for 75% off, a 20% discount on Red Dead Redemption 2, and 50% off on Borderlands 3. Meanwhile, The Outer Worlds can be had for 35% off, and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is available for 35% off.
Adding to this, Epic Games has brought back its popular coupon offer, providing customers with a re-usable $10 coupon that can be applied to games and DLC priced at or above $14.99. Claiming the free copy of Grand Theft Auto V is the easiest way to gain the coupon.
Regarding coupon usage, for example, although The Witcher 3: GOTY edition is currently $14.99 on the store, applying the coupon brings that price down to $4.99, while Control's $29.99 sale price would be pulled down to $19.99. Keep in mind that after every purchase, the store will keep giving out a new $10 coupon. The coupon cannot be used on pre-purchases or microtransactions and will expire on November 1, 2020.
