It now seems like a distant memory when Andy Rubin showed off his new startup Essential's first handset in May. The PH-1 garnered some attention mainly due to its near bezel-less display, but also its ability to accept modular accessories like its 360-degree camera, that is also launching with the phone.
After a long delay, the firm finally started emailing customers that pre-registered for the device, letting them know that the handset would be shipping out in seven days and that payment would be required. While Best Buy and Sprint will also be carrying the handset, it appears that now Amazon is also listing the device, making it available starting September 1.
For those that prefer to purchase their handset from Amazon, you can now pre-order the Black Moon variant for $699. Unfortunately, those looking for the Pure White model will be disappointed, as there is currently no time frame posted of when it will be made available.
Prior to it shipping to customers, the firm is hosting a 'First Look' event that is scheduled for August 25 in Los Angeles. If you want the best deal when buying an Essential PH-1, you'll probably want to go directly through the firm's website, taking advantage of the limited time offer on the modular 360-degree camera for an additional $50.
