Ever been frustrated at waiting nearly a year to get that Final Fantasy game that Japan has had for what seems like years and years? Well, now the Japanese know exactly how feels, and have responded by purchasing 227,000 copies of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
GTA: SA was originally released in North America in 2004, nearly three years later the Japanese market has had its chance to play one of the best games on the GTA franchise, and by it reaching number one in the Japanese chart it shows that western games do have a place in the Japanese homes.
Just last week Microsoft's Gears of War jumped into the top 10, but this week is absent from even the top 50, so there is obviously a little work to be had for Western games.
