You know what the biggest and most unreported story of 2006 was? Uwe Boll's BloodRayne sold almost one million copies on DVD. Unless that's GameDaily BIZ's idea of a New Year's joke, as they recently spoke with the German director of awesomeness about his upcoming projects. Boll's biggest hurdle right now, however, is simply finding a distributor for his already finished In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale. BloodRayne barely made it into the box office and that starred Ben Kingsley.
Jason Statham (The Transporter) stars in the Dungeon Siege adaptation, and may possibly reteam with Boll for a theatrical take on Ubisoft's Far Cry, if the movie proves successful -- hopefully Statham's agent is paying attention to the numbers before they make that decision. In any case, Boll says Ubisoft's anxious to keep the Far Cry name alive via a movie, so they're sticking with him, even though the original licensing deal was struck with the now Electronic Arts-partnered CryTek.
